Jack is a fourth generation native born Coloradoan whose family has been ranching in Colorado since the 1870’s. He was raised on the 103,000 deeded acre Eleven Mile Grazing Association Ranch that his father managed.
Jack attended College on a Livestock Judging scholarship where he studied Farm and Ranch Management. After college he managed and worked on various ranches around Colorado and Wyoming. His favorite activities all involve the outdoors and therefore he has become an accomplished hunter and hunting advisor.
In 1999 Jack met and married his wife Jean who was a successful real estate Broker and they opened United Country Real Estate, Wapiti Realty Ltd. They also started Bar O Peso Enterprises, a cow calf operation raising high altitude beef calves.
Jack realized that his knowledge of land, ranching, hunting, wildlife, animal husbandry, and real estate gave him a unique skill set to help others achieve their dream of owning a ranch so Jean and he decided to sell the cow herd and concentrate on real estate.
This skill set was also recognized by the management of United Country Real Estate and Jack was asked to be a Founding Member of the UC Ranch Properties Steering Committee. Jack is also a Realtree Land Pro and well versed in analyzing hunting properties.
Some of Jack’s experiences that make him uniquely qualified include; Managing ranches with government grazing permits he understands working with the bureaucracy of BLM and National Forest Service.
Managing cow calf and yearling operations he can evaluate best use of a property from an operational standpoint.
Managing ranches in the mountains and plains he understands how they each have different attributes and require different management practices.
Being a lifelong outdoors-man and developing the recreational potential of ranches he has managed and guiding many hunters to their first trophy animals helps him evaluate the hunting and outdoor recreation potential of ranchland. Jack is also a Life Member of the RMEF

A native of the Canon City and Westcliffe area of Southern Colorado, Jean's interests have centered around the outdoors lifestyle. Beginning with hiking, fishing, skiing, horseback riding and backpacking in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains as a child, and later back country horse-packing, hunting and cattle ranching, she spends her time in the Colorado outdoors with her husband Jack and their dogs and horses as much as possible. She graduated High School from St. Scholastica Academy for Girls in Canon City, Co. and then Fort Lewis College in Durango with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Together with her husband Jack they opened United Country Wapiti Realty, 217 Main Street, Westcliffe, Co. 81252, in 2000. Jean loves living in the mountains, being a Rancher’s wife, and helping people buy and sell ranchland, recreational land and rural homes. She is a member of the Realtors of Central Colorado and the Royal Gorge Association of Realtors where she served on the Board of Directors. Anne was born and raised in the town of Irondequoit, a suburb of Rochester, New York, near Lake Ontario. On occasion, you might hear her called by the name of Carol. Upon graduation from the State University of New York at Alfred, she headed westward to Colorado. Her family relocated numerous times among the states of Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, then finally settling in Colorado. Her working career commenced in law as a legal secretary. Throughout the chapters of her life, her background in customer service as a personal banker included an opportunity serving clients of diverse cultures. She recognizes and values the trust clients place in her team and strives every day to exceed expectations. Along the journey, one of those chapters included a return to education where she graduated with honors from Colorado State University with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Finance. Though new to real estate, she brings a commitment to work diligently, listen, and follow through in order to provide quality service to assist her team build relationships with clients and maintain those relationships by communicating effectively. When Anne is not assisting her team, she and her husband, along with their all-American blue heeler and Siberian husky, enjoy the pristine view of Pikes Peak and the surrounding Colorado mountains from their front porch in the Wet Mountain Valley, or, spending time with family.
Wade was born in Beaumont, Texas, just east of Houston, where his parents still reside. He graduated from Texas State Technical College with a Building Construction Degree. In 1997, Wade moved to Dallas where he was a home builder then was promoted to New Home Sales Manager with Centex Homes. In 1998, he relocated to Fort Collins, where he joined Coldwell Banker selling both new homes & resale properties. He lived in Boulder County until 2005, then moved back to Beaumont where he obtained a Master’s Degree from Lamar University in Business Administration. In 2011, Wade moved to Dallas where he worked as Senior Care Asset Property Manager for Capital Senior Living. After marrying Jackie, they decided to begin searching for opportunities in Colorado as they have a deep love for the mountains. Since Wade enjoyed the Real Estate business, they both decided the purchase of Wapiti Ranch Realty & Auction, LLC. So, they packed up their Chihuahua and moved to Westcliffe in June. Wade is particularly excited about the Dark Skies of the Wet Mountain Valley and ability to view the Milky Way. Like Jackie, Wade enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, biking and playing golf. They are looking forward to building long term relationships in and around Custer County and assisting the local community.
Born & raised in Dayton, Ohio, Jackie is one of eleven children. Both of her parents sold Real Estate in Ohio Region then moved to Austin, Texas in 1984, where they built a successful Real Estate business. Jackie graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Degree in Commercial Art. In Austin, she began her career as a Restaurant Manager with Macaroni Grill. In 1994, she relocated to Dallas where she began a 20 year career as a Commercial Property Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle & Lincoln Property Company. In 2015 she met Wade Pettis and they married in 2017. Between them they have 3 grown sons, with 2 in college and 1 in the Army. They have always loved Colorado and have a passion for the Real Estate business, so they decided to move here to start a new life with the purchase of Wapiti Ranch Realty & Auction, LLC. Jackie enjoys the outdoors and doing activities such as hiking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, skiing, fishing and playing golf. Her talent for art remains with her so she looks forward to painting in her off season. Ashley is a southern Colorado native. She grew up in Pueblo and spent many weekends and holidays in Westcliffe camping, fishing and hiking over the years. She went to Centennial High School and graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She worked at Parkview Medical Center for six years after graduating. She spent several years continuing her career in healthcare working as a Strategic Account Manager for a national healthcare corporation.
She met her husband David and got married in Golden, Colorado in 2015. They then moved several times for work. They lived in Houston, TX, Richmond, VA, Allen, TX and Hartford, CT. They have traveled to many states over the years and enjoy learning new things and seeing new places.
Ashley and David have a miniature schnauzer and love their home in Westcliffe. They could not ask for a more beautiful, relaxing or peaceful place to live. They love to cook, work on home projects, volunteer and enjoy nature.
Growing up, she was always helping her dad remodel homes and complete DIY projects. When she bought her first home, her love for real estate grew exponentially. She knew someday she wanted to help others buy and sell real estate. She is very familiar with Custer County and all of its charms and can provide valuable insight into surrounding subdivisions. Due to her background in business, she has a special interest in commercial real estate transactions.
Ashley looks forward to serving her community as a realtor and volunteer through the Rotary Club. She prides herself on integrity and transparency. She will not stop until the job is done!
